The remarkable Hanekom Family legacy dates back to 1714 when our first ancestors in South Africa started wine farming at the foothills of the Franschhoek Mountains. Akkerdal is situated in the prestigious Franschhoek Valley, surrounded by the constant flow of the Berg River and by panoramic mountains, under luscious oak trees.

GRENACHE ROSE 2020

Sexy “Grenache Noir” Very light salmon with an orange hue. Watermelon, raspberry, herbs and spice on the nose. Palate is rich and flavourful, with some hints of red apple core and strawberry following on the palate. Essential drinking if you love Rose – “Passion in the Bottle”

WINE & FOOD: Great with Lobster, Chicken. Quiche Lorraine, Soft-rind cheese like Brie or Camembert, Baked ham, grilled or sautéed pork chops, barbecued.

CHARDONNAY 2020

“Sexy 5 Clones Chardonnay” -‘Wild Yeast” Bright yellow gold. Popcorn and hints of citrus, oatmeal and vanilla on the nose. Full and rich palate with a nice round mouthfeel and savoury finish. Unusual, but extremely drinkable. “Message in the Bottle”

SEMILLON 2020

Sexy Semillon Clone GD 1 – “Wild Yeast” Yellow gold- Lime, lemon, capsicum, herbs and some asparagus on the nose. Herbaceous notes and tinned peas following on the palate with a white pepper bite to the finish. Excellent now but will age well for at least 5 more years. “Romance in the Bottle “

WINE & FOOD: Sexy – Semillon works well with seafood, especially shellfish, pork, veal, chicken, game birds or dishes with cream sauces. Cheese, hard and soft is another great pairing.

Nuanced flavors of black cherries, violets and leather, complimented

Akkerdal Kallie’s Dream 2015

This unique blend produced a supple, warming red with a spiciness
intertwined with earthy and meaty undertones. The tannins are firm but soft and gentle on the palate.

A full-bodied wine packed with bold aromas of bell-pepper, blackcurrant, plums and underlying earthiness bursting into mineral and fruit notes flavors which leads to savoury, velvety tannins ending in a lingering taste.
